Adhaan (Call to Prayer)

This dua is the Dua while hearing the adhaan. See below for more information:

اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَّسُولُ اللهِ
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَّسُولُ اللهِ
لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
الصَّلاةُ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ النَّوْمِ الصَّلاةُ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ النَّوْمِ
اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ

Repeat in the order bellow after each line of Athan, as it can be seen, only after ‘Hai ya ala ssalah’ and ‘Hai ya ala alfalah’ that you do not repeat the same (Say the Arabic- for a clearer picture):

Allah is the greatest Allah is the greatest
Allah is the greatest Allah is the greatest
I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah
There is no might nor power except with Allah There is no might nor power except with Allah
There is no might nor power except with Allah There is no might nor power except with Allah
The prayer is better than the sleep The prayer is better than the sleep (during fajr athan)
Allah is the greatest Allah is the greatest
None has the right to be worshipped except Allah

Note: (While hearing the athan) one should repeat just as the mu-aththin (one who calls to prayer) says, except when he says:

hayya ‘Alas–salah (or) hayya‘Alal-falah which means “come to prayer, come to success” instead, one should say, “There is no might nor power except with Allah.”

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ،

رَضِيتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَبِالْإِسْلامِ دِينًا

And I too bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, and Muhammad as a Messenger and Islam as a religion.

Note:
*This is to be immediately said following the declaration of faith called by the mu’adhin.

*The prophet(may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that whoever says it in this manner, “his sins will be forgiven.”

Dua after the adhaan #3

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَه.

O Allah, Owner of this perfect call and Owner of this prayer to be performed, bestow upon Muhammad al-waseelah and al-fadeelah and raise him upon a praised platform which You have promised him.

N.B. The addition of “innaka laa tukhliful mee’aad”-(Indeed you never fail in your promise) is not proven to be authentic.

Note:
– Al-waseelah is a station in paradise.
– Al-fadeelah is a rank above the rest of creation.
– Praised platform is one in which all of creation will praise him on, in order to bring about the account quickly and be relieved from the lengthy standing or the role of intercession.

One should also supplicate for himself during the time between the athan and the iqamah, as supplication at such a time is accepted.
