Dua when buying a riding animal or a car
The messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If you buy a camel, then you should take hold of it’s hump and say,
“O Allah, I ask You for the goodness within her and the goodness that you have made her inclined towards, and I seek refuge with You from the evil within her and the evil that you have made her inclined towards.”
Note:
* Scholars such as Al-Albani said that the same du’a can be said when buying a car as the purpose and the goodness and evil of it are the same as a riding animal (see commentary in the etiquettes of Marriage p93)
Dua when mounting an animal or any means of transport
Upon mounting the beast or the vehicle:
“In the name of Allah”
and then say after mounting the beast, or a being already seated in the vehicle:
“All praise is for Allah. How far from imperfections He is, the One Who has placed this (transport) at our service and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny.
All praise is for Allah, All praise is for Allah, All praise is for Allah, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. How far from imperfections You are, O Allah, verily I have wronged my soul, so forgive me, for surely none can forgive sins except You.”
Note: The prophet of Allah (may the Peace and Blessing of Allah be upon him): Allah approves of his slave when he says: ‘forgive me my sins’, and would say: ‘he knows that non forgives the sins but Me’.
